St Benedict's Church

St Benedict's Church, Wombourne
St Benedict Biscop Church is a Grade II listed building, central to the local community and sits overlooking the village green. Built in 1867 by Victorian architect G.E. Street, the church required the creation of a new vestry/meeting room extension and the replacement of floor tiling in the aisles, executed in two phases. The brief was to provide a suitably sized vestry/meeting room and to replace the floor tiling with materials that complemented the church's historic interior. The church and its parishioners were involved throughout the selection and installation process, ensuring that the materials and designs met their expectations and preserved the church's aesthetic integrity.
The parishioners and the Vicar were so pleased with the project's outcome that they invited HHA to the blessing of the works by the Bishop of Wolverhampton. Both the new flooring and the meeting room seamlessly integrated with the existing interior, enhancing the church's functionality and preserving its historical charm. This project not only improved the church's interior but also added value by increasing the flexibility of its use. The new vestry/meeting room and the restored floors allow for a more versatile use of the space, ensuring that the church remains a focal point for the community for future generations. The successful completion of this project was marked by direct expressions of gratitude from the parishioners. Their appreciation underscored the project's positive impact on the community, enhancing the church's appeal and functionality while preserving its historical significance.
