Fibbersley Park Academy

Fibbersley Park Academy, Willenhall, Walsall
In collaboration with Walsall Council, the school, and its governors, HHA executed a comprehensive scheme of alteration and extension works to enhance facilities and accommodate an increase in pupil numbers, transitioning to a three form entry school. Despite challenges posed by the site's protected status and wildlife licensing, HHA strategically managed all works to minimize disruption to school operations. Central to the project was the construction of a striking two storey curved extension along the original car park frontage, featuring full-height glazing designed to complement the school's existing curved architecture.
The extension of Fibbersley School has significantly enhanced its infrastructure, featuring a new and enlarged main entrance, expanded and flexible dining facilities, and essential breakout and intervention areas to support teaching. The development includes a comprehensive whole school library, a dedicated Food Technology area, and the refurbishment of existing classrooms as part of a phased upgrade. Additionally, a new two storey classroom block for Years 5 and 6 has been constructed, complete with breakout spaces and teacher accommodation. The project also includes the expansion of nursery facilities and the provision of out-of-hours accommodation. These improvements collectively create a modern, versatile educational environment that meets the growing needs of the school community. Feedback from the school indicated high level of satisfaction with the completed scheme, emphasizing that both staff and pupils were thriving in their enhanced environment. The updated facilities also played a critical role in the school's ability to attract new staff members. This successful project not only met immediate requirements for expansion and improvement but also significantly enhanced operational efficiency and the overall educational setting.
