HHA recently completed the renovation of a Victorian cottage, which is owned by a family with ties to Barlaston Hall. The project aimed to modernize the cottage while preserving its historical character. The brief included reorganizing the internal layout to maximize space efficiency and functionality. A key challenge was managing unexpected issues within the project's time frame and budget constraints. Despite these hurdles, the client was highly satisfied with the outcome. The updated interior now features improved storage, defined living spaces, reinstated period details, a log burner integrated into the existing chimney breast and a new cloaks area in the entrance lobby.
Externally, the cottage's renovation blends seamlessly with the neighbouring Queen Row Workers Cottages along Longton Road, enhancing the area's historic charm. The improvements have transformed the property into a welcoming family home, broadening its appeal in the market. The family were particularly pleased with the tailored and practical design, which not only met their needs but also enhanced the overall aesthetic of Longton and its historic cottages. Their positive feedback underscores the success of our efforts in creating a modern yet characterful dwelling that respects its Victorian heritage. This project exemplifies our commitment to delivering high-quality renovations that harmonize contemporary living standards with the architectural legacy of historic properties.
