The work at St Mary’s College has been a substantial conservation and repair project to restore this fine building to its present condition. Built in 1836 as a Catholic Seminary, the building is now used as a retreat and a venue for Diocesan events.
Our project dealt with brick and stonework problems, including external cleaning to remove the smoke blackened appearance of the building. A substantial repair of the Chapel ceiling affected by dry rot caused the whole of the chapel ceiling to be repainted to replicate the original Pugin design.
