Following concerns raised by Ofsted about the school’s limited dining space, Horsley Huber Architects Ltd were commissioned by King Edward VI Camp Hill School for Girls to design a new Cross-Curricular Teaching Facility with Dining Room, comprising a new extension and remodelling of an existing ICT classroom.
The new facilities provide dining space for girls wishing to eat packed lunches, together with a new servery area serving hot and cold food. An external landscaped area comprising both a raised terrace and lawn provides an extended area for al fresco dining during the summer months. The internal space is also designed to be used for teaching a variety of subjects, particularly for cross-curricular and large group learning activities.
